Rick Riordan
Rick Riordan was born June 5, 1964. He was born in San Antonio, Texas. Rick attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio. He worked as an editor for the school newspaper and won third place in state for UIL feature writing. HE then transferred to the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated with a double major in English as well as history. Rick taught those two classes at public and private middle schools in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Texas for fifteen years. In 2002, Saint Mary’s Hall honored him with the school’s first Master Teacher Award. Since then, Rick has accomplished many things and earned may words. Rick wrote both children and adult books. He won the Children's Choice Book Award for Author of the Year in 2011. He is also the author of the multi-award-winning Tres Navarre mystery series for adults. Over thirty-three million copies of his Percy Jackson, Kane Chronicles, and Heroes of Olympus books are in print in the United States, and rights have been sold into more than 35 countries. He has also recieved many #1 New York Times bestsellers. Rick will be remembered for his great contributions into the writing world!
